Failed to Make Local Area Calls§
Symptoms§
Dispatchers fail to initial local area calls (site-specific All Calls).
Additional info§
-
In the Configurator App, value of the Site Number parameter is different from Wide.
-
Dispatchers is able to replying to those calls.
- In MOTOTRBO configuration, there are local area calls with that Site ID.
Reason§
SmartPTT is misconfigured.
If Site ID is set, SmartPTT tries to enforce that ID and override MOTOTRBO configuration. MOTOTRBO rejects such attempt.
Resolution§
In the SmartPTT Configurator, change the value of the Site ID parameter to Wide.
At this, SmartPTT will not enforce Site ID. MOTOTRBO itself will apply the configured Site ID for those local area calls.
More Info§
In MOTOTRBO, local area calls1 are all calls with affiliation to one or multiple RF sites. Origin and destination site IDs are set in radios via MOTOTRBO Radio Management application. This results in the following behavior:
- If no sites are set for the call, radio subscribers initiate them on their current site only. No other sited will be invovled.
- If specific sites are set for the call (one or multiple), only radio subscribers on those sites will be able to initiate calls. When initiated, the call is routed to other configured sites only.
In SmartPTT, local area calls are required to initiate a local area call on specific sites. Since they are beyond any physical RF site, they need specific tools to do that. This is achieved with the Site ID parameter for local area calls.
