Personalities§
Personalities are sets of additional options that provide greater control over groups and subscribers. The options are implemented in the SmartPTT Radioserver under Profiles, and they are applicable only to Mobile Apps. Personalities for Mobile App are almost the same as personalities in MOTOTRBO radios.
Notable functions:
- Prioritized Receive List. Within each personality, system supervisors can create a list of groups. The position in the list determines the priority of a corresponding group call. Reaction to higher-priority calls depends on personality settings.
- Default contact. Mobile App users get a default group/subscriber to which they will transmit when press PTT. Default contact is set at logon and is restored after other calls end.
Mobile App users can access multiple personalities. They can manually switch between them depending on specific use cases.
The functionality is a part of the Mobile App license.
Small- and No-Display POC Radios§
SmartPTT introduces a new edition of the Mobile App intended for POC radios with small displays and without them. The release focuses on Inrico T192, T196, T522A, T640A, and S100. On those devices, the Mobile App supports PTT, Emergency, and Channel Selection. Customers can configure voice calls, Emergency, and GPS sharing.
The functionality is a part of the Mobile App license.
Secure Voice Recording§
SmartPTT introduces a new mode of managing voice records. In that mode, voice records are created only on the server side, not on the Desktop Console side. With that, Operators will be unable to access them in the file storage for security reasons.
Moreover, system supervisors will be able to determine Operator permissions for voice records. Depending on customer policies, Operators might be unable to access voice records at all, or access them for playback only, or access them to play back and download.
The functionality if a part of the core license.
License Syncing§
SmartPTT Desktop Consoles are now able to load and apply license permissions from one or multiple servers. In cases of multi-server solutions, license permissions from different servers are added to each other.
If the mode is enabled, Desktop Console requests permissions from the server and enables the relevant features. Otherwise, a locally installed license is enabled. If local licenses are not installed, Desktop Consoles enter a demo mode with time-limited and capacity-limited licenses enabled. This is made for the backward compatibility with existing modes.
Enhancements§
Miscellaneous enhancements for our customers. - Multiple Admin Accounts SmartPTT provides the ability to create multiple console administrators. Previously, only one console admin could be created. - OAuth2 support (email only) SmartPTT introduces OAuth2 to authenticate/authorize in cloud email services. OAuth2 is a secure authentication method based on the application registration in the organization tenant. - Custom Certificates SmartPTT provides the ability to upload and use custom certificates. Those certificates are used to ensure reliable Web Console access (for web console users).
All the functionalities are part of the core license.
RG-2000 Announcement§
SmartPTT supports the RG-2000, a new RoIP gateway that replaces the RG-1000E. The device will be available late Q2 2023. It supports MOTOTRBO donor radios and 4WIRE interfaces to APX (P25) and MTM (TETRA) radios. It will have RG-1000E compatibility mode and voice recording capability with optional encryption. All the configuration and upgrades of the device will be available over an integrated web configuration tool.
In SmartPTT, the functionality is a part of the MOTOTRBO Control Stations Connectivity and Remote IO Control Stations Connectivity.
The device and its options are purchased separately.
