Connecting to MNIS in LCP

Prerequisites§

  • Obtain the MNIS host IP address with respect to SmartPTT server.

    Tip

    Basically, MNIS is installed to the same host as SmartPTT server.

  • From the MNIS Configuration Utility, obtain the following information:

    • MNIS Application ID.
    • TCP port of the MNIS control interface.
    • MNIS ports used for different types of data.

Procedure§

  1. In the Configurator, on the Systems tab, expand NAI Systems → <name of the LCP system>, and then click MNIS Settings.
    MNIS settings appear in the right pane.

  2. Set up MNIS connection:

    1. From the Socket Type list select TCP.
    2. In the MNIS Service Address field, enter the MNIS host address and TCP port.

      Example

      192.168.27.5:55000

      localhost:55000

    3. Click Test to ensure MNIS availability.

  3. In the MNIS ID field, enter the MNIS Application ID.

  4. Set up port numbers delivered in MNIS packets to identify data types (GPS, TMS etc.):
    1. In the Location Service (LRRP) field, enter the MNIS port number that is set for GPS service using LRRP.
    2. In the Location Service (LIP) field, enter the MNIS port number that is set for GPS service using LIP.
    3. In the Text Message Service field, enter the MNIS port number that is set for TMS service.
    4. In the Telemetry Service field, enter the MNIS port number that is set for telemetry service.
  5. In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Save  to save changes.
  6. To apply changes, click Restart in the bottom part of the Configurator.
