Setting Up Secure Keys in LCP

Prerequisites§

  • Obtain security key IDs and values for all encryption types used in the radio system.
  • To use symmetric keys (term from the Radio Management app), install the corresponding SmartPTT license.

Procedure§

  1. In the Configurator, on the Systems tab, expand NAI Systems → <name of the LCP system> → Wireline Interface, and then click Security Settings.
    List of secure keys appears in the right pane.

  2. To set up basic privacy, in the Basic Privacy area, in the Key field, enter the proper basic privacy key.

  3. To set up enhanced privacy, in the Enhanced Privacy area, perform the following actions:

    1. Click Add.
    2. In the new row of the table, in the Key ID column, double click the current ID, and then enter the proper key ID.
    3. In the same row, in the Key Value column, double click the field, and then type the required key.
    4. Ensure the key value is valid, and then proceed to next steps.

      Warning

      Once you change the focus from the Key Value parameter, the value of the key hides and will be unavailable for review.

  4. To set up symmetric secure key (the term used in Radio Management app), in the AES area, perform the following actions:

    1. Click Add.
    2. In the new row of the table, in the Key ID column, double click the current ID, and then enter the proper key ID.
    3. In the same row, in the Key Value column, double click the field, and then type the required key.
    4. Ensure the key value is valid, and then proceed to next steps.

      Warning

      Once you change the focus from the Key Value parameter, the value of the key hides and will be unavailable for review.

  5. In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Save  to save changes.

  6. To apply changes, click Restart in the bottom part of the Configurator.

Postrequisites§

If you are configuring LCP in SmartPTT PLUS, set up transmit secure key.
