Authorization Setup
Active Directory§
Active Directory (AD) authorization is configured in SmartPTT during the installation process only.
Fresh/First Installation§
If you are about to perform a fresh/first install, then you must perform the following actions:
- Perform AD prerequisites
- Install at least SmartPTT 9.14.100 and set up AD authorization during that installation.

SmartPTT 9.13 and earlier§
If you have SmartPTT 9.13 and newer, then you must perform the following actions:
- Perform AD prerequisites
- Upgrade your SmartPTT to at least 9.14.100 and set up AD authorization during the upgrade.
Another Authorization Type§
If you have SmartPTT 9.14.100 or newer, and you have different (local/legacy) authorization, you must perform the following actions:
- Perform AD prerequisites

Uninstall existing SmartPTT.

SmartPTT preserves configuration and data during uninstall.

Install SmartPTT and set up AD authorization during that installation.
Local Account Authorization§
Local account authorization is configured in SmartPTT during the installation process only.
Fresh/First Installation§
If you are about to perform a fresh/first install, then you must perform the following actions:install SmartPTT with AD authorization.
- Perform local account prerequisites
- Install at least SmartPTT 9.14.100 and set up local authorization during that installation.

If you have SmartPTT 9.13 and newer, then you must perform the following actions:
- Perform local account prerequisites
- Upgrade your SmartPTT to at least 9.14.100
- Set up local authorization during that upgrade.

If you have SmartPTT 9.14.100 or newer, and you have different (AD/legacy) authorization, you must perform the following actions:
- Perform local account prerequisites
