Adding and Configuring SNMP Devices
Prerequisites§
- Enable monitoring for the required radio system.
Process§
- In the Configurator, go to the Monitoring tab.
- Access the required radio system:
- To access devices related to locally-connected control stations, expand Control Stations.
- To access devices related to remote control stations, expand Remote Adapters → <adapter name>.
- To access devices related to repeater systems, expand <system type> → <system name>.

Perform one of the following actions:
- To add a new network device, right click <radio system name>, and then select Add Device.
- To add an existing network device, click the required device under the current node or under the required location-type node.
Device settings appear in the right pane.

From the Device Type list, select the device model. If no option fits you case, select Unknown.
- In the Name field, enter the device name to use in SmartPTT.
In the Description area, enter the device description. - Set up server interface to connect to the device:
- From the Interface list, select the proper host IP address. If irrelevant, select Any.
- In the Port field next to the Interface list, enter the computer local port to connect to the device.
- Set up the device address to which server should connect:
- In the IP address field, enter the device IPv4 address or IPv4 address of the corresponding NAT router.
- In the Port field next to the IP address field, enter the device (remote) port or the corresponding NAT router port number.
- Set up SNMP to use between the server and the device:
- From the SNMP Version list,
select one of the following options:
- If the device supports SNMPv1 and it is secure enough for your purposes, select V1.
- If the device supports SNMPv2 and it is secure enough for your purposes, select V2.
- In the Community field, enter the community string as per device configuration.
- From the SNMP Version list,
select one of the following options:
- In the Response Timeout field, enter the SNMP response timeout (seconds) for the server.

In the Polling Interval field, enter the time interval (in seconds) between SNMP polls sent by the server to the device.
Info
For consistency, ensure that the polling interval is always larger than the response timeout.

To test the validity of setting you configured, click Check Connection. - In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Save to save changes.
- To apply changes, click Restart in the bottom part of the Configurator.
