Setting Up Per-Device Community String for External SNMP Service

Prerequisites

• Set up server interface for external SNMP service
• Add and/or configure required SNMP devices
• Determine community strings associated with every SNMP device.

Process

1. In the Configurator, go to the Monitoring tab.

2. Access the required radio system:

   • To access devices related to locally-connected control stations, expand Control Stations, and then click the required device.
   • To access devices related to remote control stations, expand Remote Adapters → <adapter name>, and then click the required device.
   • To access devices related to repeater systems, expand <system type> → <system name>, and then click the required device.

   Device settings appear in the right pane.

   

3. In the bottom part of the right pane, in the SNMP Parameters area, select the Active check box.

4. In the Community field, enter the community string for the current device.
5. In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Save  to save changes.
6. To apply changes, click Restart in the bottom part of the Configurator.
