Ambiguous term:

  • In MOTOTRBO, calls between two radio subscribers or between radio subscriber and SmartPTT user.
  • Some people may expect the term to mean “encrypted calls”. This is supported by MOTOTRBO terminology that refers to encryption as to “basic/enhanced/advanced privacy”.
  • Some people may expect the term to mean “confidential calls”, ones that nobody else hears. However, the confidentiality might be violated at open voice channel mode, channel monitoring, etc.

In this WIKI, voice calls between radio subscribers as well as between radio subscriber and SmartPTT users referred to as individual calls as often as possible.
