Installing Server Only with AD Authorization

Prerequisites

• Perform the general installation prerequisites.

  General Installation Prerequisites

  • Depending on the required authorization, perform one of the following actions:
    • For AD authorization, create AD groups for all product user roles 
    • For local authorization, create local user groups for all product user roles 
  • Install .NET Framework 4.8.1 (requires Internet access).

    winget install -e --id Microsoft.DotNet.Framework.DeveloperPack_4
    

  • Install Visual C++ 2015 – 2022 Redistributable (requires Internet access).

    winget install -e --id Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x64
    

  • Restart the computer.

• Log on to the computer with the program installation permissions.

• Unarchive the installation executable (EXE) file to a local/network file storage.
• Verify the EXE file signature 

Process

1. Start the installation executable (EXE) file.

   

2. If required, change the UI language:

   1. Next to the Setup language label, click the current language name.
   2. From the dialog box, select the required language.
   3. Click Apply to apply changes and close the dialog.

3. Click Next.

   

4. In the window that appears, select the I accept the terms in the License Agreement check box. Then click Next.

   

5. In the window that appears, select the SmartPTT Radioserver check box.

6. Modify the installation path to the file:
   1. In the lower part of the window, click Change.
   2. In the dialog box, select the required directory. Then click OK.

7. Click Next.

   

8. In the window that appears, perform the following actions:

   1. From the Authentication Type list, select Domain.
   2. In the Domain field, enter the domain name.
   3. Click Test to test the domain availability.
   4. From the System Administrators list, select user group of system admins.
   5. From the Database Administrators list, select user group of database admins.
   6. From the Console Administrators list, select user group of console admins.
   7. From the Console Operators list, select user group of console operators.

9. Click Next.

   

10. In the window that appears, review the summary information. If correct, click Install.
    Installation progress window appears. When completed, the Setup Completed window appears.

    

11. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Postrequisites

• If required, change an account responsible for the server-related service operations 
• For Dispatcher Apps, install and/or set up MSSQL database
