SmartPTT§

Newest available version is highly recommended.

MOTOTRBO§

MOTOTRBO prerequisites are different for IP Site Connect in SmartPTT Enterprise and SmartPTT PLUS.

  • Subscriber radios must include IP Site Connect licenses.
  • Repeaters must include IP Site Connect licenses.
  • Newest MOTOTRBO release is highly recommended.
  • Subscriber radios must include IP Site Connect licenses.
  • Repeaters must include the following licenses:
    • IP Site Connect
    • Network Application Interface Voice
    • Network Application Interface Data.
  • Newest MOTOTRBO release is highly recommended.

Radio ID§

The prerequisites are different in SmartPTT Enterprise and SmartPTT PLUS.

  • Every subscriber radio must have unique Radio ID.
  • Every SmartPTT server (if many) must have unique Radio ID.
  • Optionally, you can assign unique Radio ID to selected or all dispatchers and mobile subscribers.
  • Every subscriber radio must have unique Radio ID.
  • Every SmartPTT server (if many) must have unique Radio ID.
  • MNIS must have unique Radio ID assigned.
  • Optionally, you can assign unique Radio ID to selected or all dispatchers and mobile subscribers.

Local Area Channels§

SMARTPTT PLUS ONLY

This section is applicable to SmartPTT PLUS only. If you are using SmartPTT Enterprise, please skip it.

The channels are only supported in SmartPTT PLUS.

Group ID§

The prerequisites are different in SmartPTT Enterprise and SmartPTT PLUS.

Except the cases when SmartPTT server acts as a main repeater, all groups and all calls must be system wide.

Every talkgroup must be either single-site or wide. No multi-site configurations are supported.

Repeater Radio ID§

The parameter (also know as “peer ID”) must be unique for the following entities:

  • LCP repeaters (including main repeater),
  • MNIS,
  • SmartPTT main, additional, and backup servers.

Secure Keys§

Depending on the encryption type (basic/enhanced/advanced), corresponding secure keys ID and values must be stored for the further configuration in SmartPTT.

Cybersecurity§

  • All interfaces between solution components are open (not encrypted). If required, protect them using third-party VPN tools.
  • Main repeaters may send encrypted traffic to SmartPTT server over the open IP channel.
  • Main repeaters may send encrypted traffic to MNIS over the open IP channel.
