This article aggregates workarounds and fixes for issues related to audio in SmartPTT.
No audio after OS upgrade§
Symptoms. No audio is heard in Dispatcher App after the OS upgrade.
Necessary details. Please specify the following before submitting a request:
- Check if you are using High-Definition Audio Device drivers (native OS audio drivers) or ones provided by audio card manufacturers.
- Check if you hear any audio on the computer after the upgrade.
- Check if you are using SmartPTT version before 9.14.100 or not.
Explanations. Presented below:
- Audio drivers provided by manufacturers (Realtec etc) may knowingly fail after OS upgrades. They require driver reinstallation/repair after every upgrade.
- Before 9.14.100, SmartPTT interfaced with audio devices differently. The mechanism is changed to preserve the product operability after the upgrades.
Recommendations. Presented below:
- Set up OS-native audio drivers
- Disable automatic OS updates
- Upgrade your SmartPTT to a supported version newer than 9.14.100.
