MOTOTRBO Telemetry (7.0.2)§

  • Remote management, real-time results

What Is It?§

Glossary

In MOTOTRBO, telemetry refers to data acquisition and remote control functionality. It is achieved by configuring MOTOTRBO radios as remote telemetry units (RTU).

DISCLAIMER

The article is about data acquisition and remote control functionality.

SmartPTT does not have a functionality related to user actions tracking, collecting, and sharing.

What Did We Do for You?§

  • Up to five configurable Telemetry VIO pins in accessory connectors of MOTOTRBO subscriber radios.
  • Detecting VIO pin signals (incoming data).
  • Optional VIO pin polling.
  • Applying high/low signals, changing signals to opposite (outgoing data).
  • Ability to individualize settings on per-console per-subscriber basis.

Where Do You Need It?§

  • Security and Facility Management. Access point verification and management; example is doors or gates checks (opened/closed) and opening/closing them.
  • Industrial and Manufacturing Plants. Combined machinery monitor and communication point; emergency might be communicated directly be immediately with the voice transmit capabilities as well as emergency initiation capabilities.
  • Infrastructure and Utilities. Managing remote sites and facilities (e.g. pump stations) from dispatcher position, without necessary physical presence.
  • Fleet and Transportation Services. Remote assistance to vehicle and bus drivers, like turning on/off lights, triggering other in-car systems from dispatch positions.
  • Public Safety and Emergency Services. Agencies that need to integrate radio systems with external hardware, such as triggering sirens or emergency lighting (Ext Alarm/Horn & Lights) via radio pins.

What Will You Get?§

  • Enhanced situational awareness. By receiving status updates in real time, dispatchers can confirm the success of a command or detect an unauthorized entry through triggered sensors.
  • Remote operational control. Users can execute essential actions directly from their consoles, without needing personnel on-site.
  • System integration. Telemetry allows for the integration of non-radio hardware (like sensors or electronic switches) into the existing radio network, turning a communication system into a comprehensive control system.
  • Automated Event Logging. Every incoming telemetry event is logged in an event/activity log, providing a reliable audit trail for security compliance and operational analysis.
  • Reduced response times. Because of remote device management (over the air), emergency or routine adjustments can be made in seconds rather than minutes.

How You Get It?§

  • Set up the needed subscriber radios as RTU.
  • Choose the MOTOTRBO system.
