MOTOTRBO Updates§
SmartPTT is successfully validated to support M2021.03, a new MOTOTRBO release.
For existing customer support, SmartPTT preserves the support of wireline interface to Connect Plus with R2.10.5 firmware updates.
WAVE PTX Support§
Warning
The functionality is available only in SmartPTT PLUS.
SmartPTT supports WAVE PTX integrated with MOTOTRBO systems. It provides all the versatile dispatch capabilities for both systems.

Seamless Voice and Locate§

The functionality is available only in SmartPTT PLUS.
This functionality is a part of the WAVE PTX support.
SmartPTT supports the ability of MOTOTRBO Ion devices to roam between MOTOTRBO and WAVE coverage. WAVE coverage is available via LTE and/or Wi-Fi, depending on the customer demands.
Currently, the roaming is supported only in Capacity Max.
Sub-Fleets§
SmartPTT introduces the ability to set up their membership in sub-fleets. Only members of the same sub-fleet may contact each other with voice and/or text, share their GPS location.
The functionality works similarly to tenants and domains from other software products.
Proximity Alerts§
Danger
Functionality performance is limited by radio technology. This includes low update rates and risks of information loss due to radio frequency interference.
Danger
The functionality is active only while the user session is active in the Dispatcher App. Once logged off, the functionality is inactive.
SmartPTT introduces the ability to track subscriber proximity to each other. Once detected, voice and text alerts can be triggered on their radios as well as in the Dispatcher App.
Benefits:
- Increased situational awareness
Subscribers may take actions to prevent unnecessary collisions. - Lower risk of incidents
Being alerted, subscribers may focus greater on their daily work.
Initiator Audio Alerts§
SmartPTT introduces the ability to send an audio to event initiators. The functionality is available as part of rules and alerts managed in the Dispatcher App.
Benefits:
- Increased situational awareness
Notifications are now available for non-display subscriber radios. - Greater compliance
Audible notifications are primary type of notifications in telecom. - Increased safety
Audible alerts fit good with Proximity Alerts introduced in this release.
Other§
- Subscriber Alias Database
This enhanced feature helps set radio aliases on the SmartPTT server. Import aliases in a centralized way, if needed; upload the list of subscriber aliases from a CSV file, and start working with them right away. - Dispatcher Password Requirements
Due to security concerns, SmartPTT introduced required non-empty password for all Dispatcher App users. Once you perform your first Dispatcher App installation or upgrade the existing app to 9.10, you will have to perform the password setup. - Subscriber Report Updates
SmartPTT introduces offline subscribers info into existing subscriber report. The information can be included/excluded, for backward compatibility. If included, it provides date and time when subscribers were available for the last time. - Remote Assistance Updates
The version of the Remote Assistance app is updated.
