MOTOTRBO§
M2020.01§
SmartPTT supports the newest MOTOTRBO release. This includes IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus, Capacity Max, and wireless interfaces supported by SmartPTT.
Location Information Protocol§
Disclaimer
The functionality is available only in NAI-capable IP Site Connect. It might be a subject to regional limitations by Motorola.
M2020.01 introduces Location Information Protocol (LIP) that is used to encode GPS data on subscriber radios for further delivery to MOTOTRBO-compatible applications like SmartPTT.
SmartPTT supports LIP data decode which includes the following:
- Timeout-triggered location reports.
- Distance-triggered location reports.
- Emergency-triggered location reports.
For all of them, SmartPTT provides its value-added functionality like emergency alerts, geocoding, rules and alerts, reports and more.
Beware that triggers for the functionality might be configured solely in subscriber radios. No application (including SmartPTT) is capable to encode triggers for LIP-encoded GPS data in MOTOTRBO.
DMR-Compliant Voice Interrupt§
Disclaimer
The functionality is available only in NAI-capable IP Site Connect. It might be a subject to regional limitations by Motorola.
M2020.01 introduces DMR-compliant interruption mechanism for voice calls between radio subscribers as well as between them and SmartPTT dispatchers.
SmartPTT supports the related changes in the MOTOTRBO. For enablement, it requires manual re-configuraion.
Single Slot Data Revert§
M2020.01 introduces single-slot data revert configuration to Capacity Max. With it, only one of two repeater channels might be used as a data revert channels.
SmartPTT supports that configuration and provides the proper voice and data handling in the system with such repeaters.
Connect Plus R2.10.5§
SmartPTT keeps supporting Connect Plus systems upgraded to MOTOTRBO release R2.10.5.
Avigilon Support§
SmartPTT supports integration with the Avigilon Video Management System. With the integration, dispatchers are able to view live video feed from on-site cameras and have greater situational awareness.
Authentication Upgrades§
SmartPTT Dispatcher authorization process is significantly changed:
- SmartPTT server is able to deny SmartPTT Dispatcher connections.
- SmartPTT server is able to require SmartPTT Dispatcher authentication.
When SmartPTT Dispatchers are allowed to connect to server without authentication, dispatchers will have unlimited access to all radio systems, their radios, talkgroups, and dispatch features. In this case, dispatcher permissions can be limited using profiles.
To restrict dispatcher capabilities, SmartPTT Dispatcher authentication must be activated:
- In the Configurator, client accounts with assigned profile (if needed) must be created.
- In SmartPTT Dispatcher, operator accounts must be created.
- During the server access configuration, client accounts must be set to the desired operator accounts.
Web Console Upgrades§
SmartPTT Web Console is greatly upgraded after the previous release.
Voice Calls and Cross Patches§
Web Console now supports voice transmission. Voice transmission includes the ability to receive and initiate group and private calls as well as Wide and Local Area Call.
Dispatcher has the ability to configure the call mode. Calls can be initiated using different methods (single click/tap, press and hold, or right-click).
Web Console also supports cross patches. SmartPTT Web Client provides dispatchers with the ability to manage cross patches, both their own and those created by other dispatchers. For cross patch management, dispatcher must have the corresponding permission.
Emergency Alarms and Calls§
Web Console now provides information about emergency alarms and emergency calls in the radio network. When an emergency occurs, Web Console notifies dispatchers about it using the dedicated panel and the audible alarm. Dispatchers are able to turn off the sound alert, and remove the emergency notification when they resolve the situation.
Data Transmission over WebRTC§
Web Console now receives all data from SmartPTT Server and transmits it over WebRTC. It does not require Audio Proxy for data reception and transmission. Therefore, user does not require to install any additional software (except the compatible web browser) to access Web Console
Custom Console and Split View§
Web Console provides the ability to configure a custom console for easy access to the desired resources. Each element of the custom console retains its functionality and can be customized. It includes configuring element size, color, icon, font size, and word wrapping. When custom console is configured, it becomes available for all Web Console users.
Working area of Web Console can be split vertically or horizontally into two areas. Each area is able to show the custom console, the map, or the event log.
Profile Support§
Web Console now provides the ability to use profiles for user permissions and restrictions management.
APX over RG-1000E§
SMARTPTT PLUS ONLY
Functionality below is available only in SmartPTT PLUS.
APX control stations now can be connected to the SmartPTT over RG-1000e. This provides the ability to install control stations where they are required.
It increases dispatcher communication capabilities by means of voice reception and initiation.
Support of APX control stations requires the corresponding SmartPTT license.
Automatic Gain Control§
SmartPTT now supports the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) feature. It is applicable to incoming calls from radios addressed to other radios and/or dispatchers.
The setting can be activated in SmartPTT radioserver and/or in individual dispatch consoles.
Upgraded Cross Patches§
The cross patch feature is significantly upgraded.
When a dispatcher creates a cross patch, it becomes available to all other dispatchers who use SmartPTT Dispatcher and/or Web Console. Dispatchers (if have the corresponding permission) are able to edit and activate/deactivate patches. If the cross patch creator logs off or closes a dispatch application, the patch remains operable and available to other dispatchers. Moreover, when all dispatchers are off, the cross patch wil not disappear.
Upgraded cross patches can be created for talkgroups and All Calls of networks related to one SmartPTT server.
New Mobile App§
SMARTPTT ENTERPRISE ONLY
Functionality below is available only in SmartPTT Enterprise.
SmartPTT supports a new mobile application available for both Android and iOS operating systems.
Mobile App provides the following features:
- Voice communication with radio subscribers using group and individual calls.
- Voice communication with other Mobile App users using group and individual calls.
- Tracking online/offline status of other Mobile App users and radio subscribers.
- Ability to create mobile subscriber groups for group calls to other Mobile App users.
The use of SmartPTT Mobile requires the corresponding license and may have regional limitations. For information Mobile App availability, please contact Elcomplus representatives in your region.
