Setting Up Local Area Calls§

In some cases, operators may need to transmit to subscribers on specific sites. Alternatively, they many need to send text messages for them. For that purpose, SmartPTT allows setting up local area calls.

Prerequisite§

Determine Site IDs for impacted subscribers.

Procedure§

  1. In Confugurator, in the Systems tab, expand Capacity Max Systems → <System Name>, and click Talkgroups.

    List of groups appears.

  2. On the right pane, perform one of the following actions:

    • To add a new local area call, click All Call.
    • To edit an existing local area call, proceed to the next step.
  3. Set up the required entry:

    1. In the Name column, double-click the default name, and then type the required name.
    2. In the Site ID column, enter the required Site ID.
    3.  Only PLUS: In the VRC Gateway column, from the list, select the required gateway.
  4. In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Save to save changes.

Postrequisites§

  • To apply changes, In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Restart to restart the server and apply changes.
  • To restrict local area call access to operators and mobile subsribers, update their profiles.
