Setting Up Centralized GPS Triggers

Prerequisites§

  • Ensure you license file contains the “GPS Positioning” option.
  • Determine Radio IDs allocated for WAVE users.

Procedure§

  1. In the Configurator, on the Settings tab, click Radio Groups.
    List of existing groups of radios/subscribers appears.
  2. Create a group for WAVE users that must have common GPS triggers:

    1. In the right pane, click Add.
    2. For the created entry, in the Radio IDs column, enter MOTOTRBO IDs allocated for corresponding WAVE users. Use hyphens (“-”) for ID ranges, and commas (“,”) to separate IDs and ID ranges from each other.
    3. In the Group Name column, enter an alias of the group that will facilitate its recognition during the GPS triggers setup.
  3. Repeat step 2 for other groups of WAVE users who must have common GPS triggers.

  4. In the left pane, expand the Radio Network Services node. Then click GPS.
    GPS triggers appear.
  5. In the table available in the right pane, identify created WAVE groups. For each of that group, perform the following actions:

    • To set up timeout-based GPS trigger in Capacity Max with turned on USBD Polling, in the Time Interval (on Control Channel) column, select a check box. Then enter a timeout measured in seconds.
    • To set up timeout-based GPS trigger in non-Capacity Max systems or Capacity Max without USBD Polling, in the Time Interval column, select a check box. Then enter a timeout measured in seconds.
    • To enable GPS reporting on Emergency Alarm, in the On Emergency column, select a check box.
    • To enable GPS reporting on transmissions initiated in Emergency Mode, in the On PTT press only in Emergency Mode column, select a check box.
    • To enable GPS reporting on any start of transmission, in the On Each PTT Press column, select a check box.

    Success

    Ignore other GPS triggers as they are irrelevant to WAVE users.

  6. Repeat step 5 for other groups of WAVE users.

  7. In the bottom part of the Configurator, click Save  to save changes.
  8. To apply changes, click Restart in the bottom part of the Configurator.
