Integrated WAVE PTX Architecture
Architecture description implies visualization of the voice and data flow between key components of the solution. The components are:
- SmartPTT Server
- NAI Voice Gateway
- WAVE Radio Gateway
- Universal Gateway (UGW) in WAVE OnCloud.
Voice and data flows are presented in figures below.
Universal Gateway (UGW)§
Data-only component of the WAVE OnCloud solution. It is responsible for presence and GPS information provision directly to SmartPTT. It provides information on regular WAVE users and MOTOTRBO Ion users while they are in the LTE mode.
NAI Voice Gateway§
Entity responsible for two-way voice traffic and signaling commands retransmission between MOTOTRBO system, WAVE Radio Gateway (WRG), and SmartPTT.
Depending on the MOTOTRBO system, gateway is located in the following system elements:
- In case of in IP Site Connect and Capacity Plus, the gateway is a part of the master repeater.
- In case of Capacity Max, the gateway is a part of the Capacity Max System Server (CMSS).
WAVE Radio Gateway§
Hardware-and-software solution responsible for voice and signaling transcoding between WAVE OnCloud and NAI Voice Gateway. It excludes the need for SmartPTT to directly connect to WAVE OnCloud for voice, signaling, and short commands.
SmartPTT Server§
Component of the SmartPTT dispatch software that is responsible for interfacing with NAI Voice Gateway, UGW, dispatch consoles, and events storage (Event Log and voice records)
