WAVE PTX Prerequisites

Information below is a technical prerequisites to the SmartPTT setup. To learn the WAVE PTX integration overview, read this article.

Requirements§

MOTOTRBO§

Supported MOTOTRBO systems:

  • IP Site Connect
  • Capacity Plus Single Site
  • Capacity Plus Mutlisite (a.k.a. Linked Capacity Plus)
  • Capacity Max

Required MOTOTRBO release is M2021.04 and newer.

MOTOTRBO infrastructure licenses must include1 NAI Voice and NAI Data.

WAVE PTX cannot be integrated with Connect Plus.

SmartPTT§

Supported SmartPTT product line is SmartPTT PLUS only.

Supported SmartPTT version is 9.10 and newer.

Static IP Adresses§

To integrate WAVE infrastructure with MOTOTRBO infrastructure, the following components must have fixed IP addresses:

  • Master repeater IP address (IP Site Connect and Capacity Plus),

  • All interfaces of Capacity Max System Sever (Capacity Max only). This includes at least the following interfaces:

    • Presence Service
    • Voice and Radio Commands (VRC) Gateway,
    • MNIS Data Gateway.

Beware that you may need to provide the addresses to Motorola if you purchase WRG with onboarding option.

Group and Subscriber Planning§

You need to perform the task if you purchase WAVE Radio Gateway with the onboarding option.

Scope of planning includes the following:

  • What talkgroups (by IDs) should be available for WAVE users.
  • What radio subscribers (by IDs) should be available for WAVE users.
  • What radio IDs should be assigned to WAVE users when they transmit to LMR groups or subscribers.

Beware that you may need to provide the information to Motorola if you purchase WRG with onboarding option.
