MOTOTRBO Updates§

SmartPTT 9.14 is successfully validated to support M2024.01, a new MOTOTRBO release. With it, SmartPTT supports extended (up to 900) range of Site IDs in MOTOTRBO Capacity Max.

For existing customer support, SmartPTT preserves the support of wireline interface to Connect Plus with R2.10.5 firmware updates.

Windows Users and Groups§

SmartPTT introduces the support of Windows users and groups as an alternative to its own user accounts. This includes Active Directory support, and local users and groups on the SmartPTT server host.

With the users and groups, significant opportunities are opened. End users may delegate user management completely to their IP personnel. SmartPTT engineers do not need to configue account associations anymore.

Profile Upgrades§

SmartPTT introduces signigicant profile upgrades. This includes but not limits with the ability to switch between allowed profiles and set up all the existing permissions in one place.

If used together with Windows User Groups, user onboarding decreases dramatically.

Manual Database Upgrades§

SmartPTT disables automatic SQL database upgrades at the software upgrades. This is done due to severe security concerns.

Audit Log API§

SmartPTT introduces the Audit Log, a dedicated log for user actions inside the system. In the first release, only logon-related activities are supported, and API-only access is provided.

Miscellaneous§

  • Enhanced behavior of the Event Log. Now, available entries do not depend on resources available currently in profiles.
  • Renaming is performed for the section previously known as “Clients Connection”. Now, parameter and section names have clearer explanation of their role in the product.
  • Renaming is made for the tab previously known as “Network Configuration”. Now, it is named “Monitoring”.
  • Profiles get a new parameter named “Use for anonymous connections”. If selected, the profile selection functionality becomes available for the SmartPTT mode of operation when the Server does not require user credentials.

    Warning

    Do not enable Use for anonymous connections if Server authentication is enabled.
